I put a new doll in my store, Lord of the Rings-Arwen,

I would love to keep her in my private collection but I finally got my canadian chatty cathy. I paid the price I wanted, which I know was a loss to the previous owner. She is a blonde pig tailed. I will be visiting the seller's store often to purchase items because she took a huge cut on this doll.

But, that is why Arwen is for sale and not going into my private collection, to pay for Chatty.

People are not spending on dolls as they once were. The times, they are a-changing. And once again, I wonder if I should close my store.

Still Looking For Canadian Chatty

I am stil looking for a Canadian Chatty for my personal collection. I've found quite a few but the price is beyond me.

I almost got one on ebay but someone out bid me. I can afford only so much and will not go beyond my limit. It is hard sometimes, like this last time but I held my ground and licked my wounds when I lost :)

I haven't sold a doll for about 3 months. Everyone has tighten their belts, as have we. My store is my hobby and anything I make is just a plus for us. I know there are others that have stores and that is their income. I would rather they get the business then me.

Maybe I will find my chatty this year. If not, I'll keep looking :)

Barbie Dolls of The World

I put a new doll in my store, this is Barbie Dolls of the World Arctic. I love the faux fur and she has it on her hood, sleeves and shoes. Its a really nice doll :)

New In The Store

New in the store is Barbie Legends of Ireland The Bard. This photo is my stock photo. The box was damaged during shipping so it has a crease on the top and bottom of the box. This means that the box is not mint. The doll is mint and never been removed from box. She is one of the most popular Barbie dolls. I'm selling her for $175

Sold Another Doll Today

I sold Barbie/Fern from Charlottes Web today. It's from the "When I Read I Dream" series. She came with Wilbur the pig. Isn't that the cutest thing. The doll is mint in box but the box is not mint. It had shelf wear. I was thinking of putting this in my private collection but she sold before I did. My loss, another's gain.

I didn't make that much on her, I don't charge for shipping. So, the shipping comes out of my profit. I sold this one for $20 but I care more about selling the dolls to collectors than the money. I never started my store for money, I wanted to share beautiful dolls with others.

More New Dolls

Here are 2 more new dolls I will have in my store. Hallie and Gwen are American Girl dolls. They are no longer being made. They are collector dolls and very cute, as you can see, they have painted faces.

Two New Girls

I got two new girls in my shop. The first one is Tonner's Tyler Wentworth Cinnabar. Isn't she a beauty with her cinnamon colored hair.

The next one is an American Girl. I bought her as a Samantha but I am not sure that she is. her hair is a lighter brown than my Samantha. So, I just can't sell her as a Samantha. I took off her Samantha dress and am selling her nude. I would rather lose money on her then sell her as a Samantha, having doubts in my heart I could not let someone buy her. I never want anyone to think that I had cheated them and if she is a Samantha then someone will get a beautiful one for less.

New Dress for My Doll

This is a dress I bought the other day from Sandy's Creations. You can find her at www.chattyandme.com or on ebay under slh294ever. The doll is Sandy's, I just bought the beautiful dress, the picture doesn't do it justice. It is sooooo beautiful, Sandy does wonderful work.

I bought the dress for a Canadian chatty cathy that I was going to buy but I got outbid on it, so I am still looking for a canadian chatty with blonde pigtails. As soon as I get one this dress will be her's :)

Dolls, Dolls & More Dolls

This is my American Doll Kit. Most collectors buy brand new with box, as close to new as possible. I, on the other hand, will buy a doll that has flaws because I want to hug them. The little girl in me wants to hold & hug.

Now, my Barbies are mint in box, a collectors dream. But, barbies were not made to hug. Then there are my Chatty Cathy's, I love my Chatty's & am looking for a Canadian chatty for my collection. I have found a couple that I'm interested in but have been dragging my feet. I have a favorite person that I buy from, Chatty Cathy Talks. She does a super job on her dolls, in fact when I got into collecting Chatty Cathy's, she advise me to buy a 1998 reproduction for my first one. I didn't listen, I bought a 1962 doll that she had done (which was far more expensive then the 1998). After the 1962 doll, I did buy the 1998 reproduction. She was right, I love my 1998 more then my 1962. But anyway, I'm waiting to see if she comes up with a canadian.

Two other sites I love to go to, is Shelley's Dolls & Sandy's Creations. If you love Chatty's, these girls have the best dolls around. Of course, there is always ebay of which I go to once a week. Went there yesterday, there is a Rosebud Chatty, mint in box. There is a reserve on it and of course I had to bid. I have 2 Rosebuds, one blonde, one burnette but I couldn't pass this one up. I had to bow out when the price got to high for me but how the heart longs for another Rosebud in my collection :)

Can never get enough dolls. Its always dolls, dolls and more dolls :)

About the New Dolls

In my previous post I shared about new dolls that came my way. I have gone thru all of them. I have kept all the Barbies & Ken's and 2 dolls from Germany.








It was agreed, that the dolls I did not want or feel that I could not sell would be given away to a charity. And that is what I have done.








Most of the Barbie's I already had in my store, there are quite a few Holiday Barbies that I do not have in my store, the plastic box on them are old and I don't know how they will clean up. These I will put in my store. The 2 German dolls do not have boxes or certificates. I have been trying to air all dolls out, it is a slow process.








As of yet, I have not put any of them in my store. There is a Princess Diana doll ,mint in box which I have put in my own collection. It is a 2nd edition, so it is rare but not very rare.








That is the latest on the dolls that were given to me. Take care, everyone :)

New Dolls

My in laws surprised me the other day when they came for a visit. In the car they had tons of dolls.





My mother in law has a friend whose mother passed away. She was a collector of dolls and they gave them to me.





The dolls need to be cleaned, the woman was a smoker but I am excited about it. So, look forward to some new dolls

Barbie Parisienne Pretty 2009

In the fall of 2009, Mattel produced Barbie Parisienne Pretty. She is a remake of an old favorite.

If you go to the Mattel Barbie site, they have issued a warning that this doll will develop "green ear". They advise anyone who has purchased this doll to return it to the dealer for another one or you can take out the earrings and replace them with earrings that will not turn the doll green.

I do not have one of these dolls in my store, I almost got one but decided on getting the "Collector's Request" doll of this nature instead. I'm glad I did.

Used Video Games

I have added video games to my store for XBOX 360, XBOX and PlayStation 2. Now these are used games because my husband and I have played them. We bought them new. Most of them are ones that we have played once and will not play again. Then there are the others that we have bought and didn't like within the first 10 minutes. These games are in excellent shape, we take good care of our games. We used to take them to a store here in Colorado Springs but they no longer exist. So, I'm selling them at my store.
